Charlie English

Charlie English is a British non-fiction author.

He has appeared on NPR, the BBC and Channel 4, written for numerous newspapers and magazines including the Guardian, the New York Times, the Telegraph and the Independent, and lectured at the Royal Geographical Society, where he is a fellow.

​He is the author of three books, The Snow Tourist, The Book Smugglers of Timbuktu and The Gallery of Miracles and Madness. His forthcoming book The CIA Book Club, which tells the story of how the CIA smuggled millions of books through the Iron Curtain during the Cold War, will be published in 2024.
