Karen Powell

Karen Powell was born in Rochester, Kent and studied English Literature at Lucy Cavendish College, Cambridge. She is the author of four novels including The River Within, an early draft of which was awarded a Northern Writers’ TLC Prize, and Fifteen Wild Decembers which was shortlisted for the 2023 Nero Book Awards and named a Best Historical Fiction Book of 2023 by The Sunday Times. She is published by Europa and lives in North Yorkshire.
