Judith Heneghan was born in Hampshire. As a child she spent a year in upstate New York with her family, and after university she lived and worked in a community for people with learning differences near Dover. She went on to become a commissioning editor for Teach Yourself at Hodder, then lived for a while in Kyiv and Moscow before settling in Winchester with her four children. She is a senior lecturer in creative writing and has written extensively for young people. Her first novel Snegurochka was shortlisted for the 2020 Edward Stanford Fiction with a Sense of Place Award. Her upcoming novel Birdeye will be published by Salt in 2024.
